Glamorous Fox star found with ‘cuts and blood all over her hands’ is charged for murdering mom

A former Fox anchor has been charged with murdering her elderly mother after she was discovered covered in blood and cuts by police.

Angelynn Mock, 48, was arrested on Halloween for allegedly stabbing her 80-year-old mother, Anita Avers, to death.

Mock, who used to anchor for Missouri’s St Louis local station Fox 2, was charged with first-degree murder by the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office last Tuesday.

Officers allegedly discovered the former journalist standing outside a property in Kansas with cuts on her hands, according to Fox News.

‘Inside the residence, officers found Avers unresponsive in her bed with multiple stab wounds,’ the Wichita Police Department said.

First-responders transported Avers to hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Mock was also taken to the hospital for unspecified treatment before being brought into custody.

She is being held at the Sedgwick County jail on $1 million bond and her next court hearing is scheduled for November 14.

The journalist worked at Fox 2 as an anchor and reporter from March 2011 to February 2015, according to her LinkedIn page.

Alyssa Castro, a neighbor, claimed Mock approached her and her boyfriend with blood all over her.

‘There was a woman who approached our vehicle with like blood, like her hands were filled, her body was filled with blood, asking to call 911,’ Castro told KAKE.

The startled resident told the outlet Mock begged to use her boyfriend’s cell phone to call the police and then ran back in the house with it. The phone was later returned to him by officers.

Castro recalled trying to help Mock as much as she could after authorities were called.

‘I asked her if she was okay, and she was pretty shaken up and she seemed scared, and she just ran off,’ she said.

Avers was a marriage and family therapist at Wichita Counseling Professionals and was beloved by her clients.

One client, Alexandra Brewer, told KAKE that Avers was a compassionate and supportive therapist.

‘She was just very warm, very loving, and had a way of just making you feel compassionate towards yourself,’ she said.

‘If she was teaching from experience, she wasn’t letting you know that was from experience. She just was there for you.

‘I just wish that everyone could see that part of Anita, not just this tragic ending. I wish you could see the rest of what made her, her.’
