Trump supporters plan huge MAGA takeover of Disneyland on same date as ‘Gay Days’ celebration

A group of Trump supporters in California are planning a Disneyland invasion in the on the same date as a gay-friendly gathering scheduled at the popular theme park.

The Southern California-based 805 Patriots announced the event at the Anaheim amusement park in February, coinciding with a ‘Gay Days’ get-together set for the same date.

‘American Patriots and Conservatives will come together for a peaceful, family-oriented meetup at Disneyland Park,’ the group said in a release.

‘This event will take place on February 28, 2026, for a day celebrating in the “Happiest Place on Earth” with like-minded people that support our President and Great Nation.’

Organizers of the MAGA takeover stressed that the intention is to ‘participate in the park in the same manner as any other unaffiliated guests or gatherings that visit Disneyland.’

‘This meetup is strictly recreational. It is NOT a march, protest, demonstration, or political action,’ the release stated.

‘Attendees will enter the park as everyday guests and are expected to follow all Disneyland guidelines.’

The release also stressed that signs, flags and ‘any form of disruptive conduct’ are prohibited, noting that another ‘unrelated event’ would be scheduled for the same day, without elaborating.

Gay Days Anaheim, which hosts its annual Disneyland gathering in September, also organizes ‘Mini Gay Days’ in February.

‘This overlap is coincidental, and both groups intend to enjoy the park without interference,’ the 805 Patriots added.

Recent complaints from conservatives about Disney’s alliance with the LGBTQ+ community and promotion of queer content appear to paint a more political motive for the group’s event.

In response to an article regarding the overlap, the Patriots group responded: ‘Well, we didn’t plan this at all but will make this even more fun now,’ People reported.

Responding to concerns about giving money to Disney, the Patriots said on the group’s Facebook page: ‘This is to go have some fun by triggering as many liberals as possible in their home turf as well as giving conservative families at least one chance to take their kids to Disneyland.’

Gay Days meet-ups have been officially organized by Gay Days Anaheim since 1998.

An LGBT+ community page on Facebook, BGay.com, shared news of the dueling events and criticized the Patriots’ planning.

‘Instead of changing the date, they leaned into it and joked, “Turns out I accidentally planned this for a GAY Day Y’all have to come, it’ll be hilarious to ruin their day!!”‘ the post read.

‘Speaking as a gay man, that line stings a bit. Pride days at Disney aren’t about “triggering” anyone. They’re about queer people and our families having one of the few spaces where rainbow T-shirts, hand-holding and chosen family photos can feel completely safe and normal.

‘Knowing there’s a group openly talking about “ruining” that vibe is… not exactly magical.’

The colliding events have drawn debate online, with many MAGA supporters all for the overlap.

Supporters of Gay Days, however, have spoken out about boycotting Disney for its handling of Jimmy Kimmel’s brief suspension over comment related to Charlie Kirk and its dealings with the president.

Some suggested that those looking to enjoy the day wear red hats and merchandise emblazoned with rainbow or Pride flags, while others encouraged attendees to ignore the MAGA group.

‘First, it was not an accident that they selected that weekend….they purposely picked that weekend to co-inside with Gay Day. Second, Disney staff will quickly throw out anyone who is causing a disruption with a possible lifetime ban,’ one wrote.

‘Their goal is to trigger you all and ruin your day…just imagine how angry and triggered they will become when all you do is show them love. Remember to not feed the trolls,’ another said.

Disneyland Park’s dress code has no rule against any politically affiliated clothing, but reiterates its rules for appropriate attire and the banning of flags, demonstrations and disruption.

The park can deny entry to any guest wearing an outfit the park deems may detract from other guest experiences.

In a statement to the Daily Mail, Gay Days Anaheim spokesperson Eddie Shaprio said: ‘Gay Days Anaheim has been bringing the community and its supporters together since 1998 and Mini Gay Days has been doing the same since 2003. We aren’t stopping now and we expect, as we always do, to have a joyous time in the parks.’
